The Teeny Star Cabin

This tiny cabin is the heart of the operation and a solid all-season retreat. It's a cozy space featuring a stargazing skylight and a tiny wood-burning stove (with tiny firewood). Inside? It's pretty much just a bed, a place to sit, a table, a loft, and plenty of charm. That's about it.

True to form, it was built using 80% reclaimed materials. We're talking donated windows, a neighbor's old deck, and siding from my brother's fence. Even the screen door is handmade using wood salvaged from my parents' house. We assembled, sanded, and painted it all ourselves to serve as our launching pad into land life.

Glamping Amenities

This isn't just camping with a better bed. It's an experience crafted from the ground up. Fire up the smoker in the outdoor kitchen for a feast under the stars, rinse off the day in a hot outdoor shower with the forest canopy as your ceiling, and let the symphony of the wild be your soundtrack. We've thought of everything to make your stay feel effortless and truly memorable.

The Barnwood Teardrop Camper

The Vibe: Mobile glamping for people who want a hard roof and a real bed without the full cabin footprint.

True to our style, this custom teardrop camper was built by hand using reclaimed barnwood. It’s compact, completely utilitarian, and available to rent as needed to give you a cozy mobile basecamp anywhere on the property. We keep it stored away and tow it out to a private clearing for your stay, giving you the simplicity of camping with the security of a solid, weather-proof shell.

What’s Inside: A comfortable mattress, basic off-grid battery power for lighting or charging your phone, and just enough space to sleep comfortably.

Goods from the Woods

Our motto—"built, not bought"—extends to the goods we sell. With our on-site sawmill, we give fallen trees a second life, transforming native hardwoods into lumber, slabs, and unique handcrafted items. It's a sustainable practice that honors the spirit of the land and allows you to take a piece of the forest home with you. Each piece tells a story of reclamation and renewal.

Custom Milled Lumber

Beautiful live-edge slabs, boards, and beams milled from native walnut, oak, and hickory.

Handcrafted Goods

A curated selection of unique items including whimsical 'forest spirits', jewelry, and solar-powered fairy jars.

Know Before You Go

Think of this as your own private piece of the wild. It's like the best backyard hangout you've ever had, but set in a park-like setting in the woods with 46 acres of forest and better scenery. Expect real nature—bugs, starry nights, and the sound of coyotes. We're near a lake, so it'll be peaceful, but there will be sounds from the occasional boat or passing ATV. If your idea of a good time involves relaxing near a crackling fire, surrounded by nothing but nature, you're in the right place. We cover all the gritty details in the booking wizard to make sure we're the right fit for your next adventure.

A Forest Story

Honestly, this whole thing started because we just wanted a quiet piece of dirt in the Kansas woods. We aren't a fancy corporate resort with manicured lawns. I just like to manicure the forest to create a "park-like setting" to hammock and chill—but next thing ya know, it turned into a 46-acre obsession.

This land has a deep history. For over a century, it was a working farm, but in the 1950s, the tractors finally stopped running. The land sat quiet for decades, and nature basically took the keys back, turning old fields into the thick, raw hardwood forest you see today.

We rolled in on July 1, 2017, and cut down the first tree just to clear a spot to stand. From the solar setup to the 1.5 miles of trails we carved out ourselves, everything here was made with a lot of sweat and a genuine love for this forest. We see ourselves simply as its latest caretakers, here to look after its wildness.

Our goal isn't to sell you a highly curated corporate vacation. We built this place so you can come out here, disconnect from the noise, and do absolutely nothing. Slow down. Look at the trees. We're pretty stoked to share it with you.
